Ideal choice for a short weekend trip in Sunderland (Tyne and Wear) with excellent value for money. The room had no heating in December, but we managed to stay warm under extra blankets. Be careful with the entrance, as it can get smoky at night.

The unexpected balcony view
The sea view from my room was breathtaking. Waking up to the sound of waves was a soothing start to each day of my stay.
Unfortunately, the shower drained slowly, which was quite inconvenient, and a couple of minor stains on the carpet could have been addressed better.

The spacious family room was beautifully decorated and offered a lovely view, making it a perfect retreat for my mother and me, despite the stairs being a bit challenging.
More accessible options like a lift would help seniors.

Fantastic family stay with a great view
I had a wonderful one-night stay in the family room with an amazing sea view. The room was spacious, and the kids loved having their own beds and watching TV from them. The staff was incredibly welcoming, making our visit feel special.

The bar area at The Queen was a real gem, serving up a vibrant atmosphere with lovely staff! Though we didn't indulge in the food, it looked absolutely fab. The nearby Love Lily Tearoom is a must for a cracking cuppa and the best homemade scones in Sunderland! You can’t go wrong popping to Downey's for some top-notch fish and chips, either.
Sadly, my check-in experience was a bit dodgy—had to sort out a double charge for my stay. Plus, the room had an uncomfortable bed that needed some TLC. Just keep an eye on your payments, though. it seems to be a common hiccup at this gaff.

Comfortable room, friendly staff, what I really appreciated was the free Wi-Fi that made it easy to plan my next activity and the convenient beach access, which offered a lovely place to relax during my stay.
Couldn't stay longer.

Family Room with Potential but Needs Improvement
We stayed for one night in a family room. The staff were friendly, but our room needed serious attention. The bed linens weren't fresh, and the bathroom fixtures required maintenance. Dining options were minimal. consider eating out. Future guests should verify details before arrival.
